American psychologist, Dr Bruce Alexander conducted experiments in the 1970’s on Rats and addiction. He was able to show that Rats that were well socialized didn’t experience addiction the way isolated Rats did. People are infinitely more complex than rats, however this example points to a community’s essential roll in recovery. We believe that networking and communicating with others can create value in several areas of a person’s life. First and foremost a nice byproduct of value is money. Money is fair exchange for value created! Like the rat park, another benefit is the social exchange and human interaction which, as studies have shown, can aid in addiction recovery. Our goal is to provide tools and tiered resources to aid in alleviating the underlying causes of addiction / Opiate Use Disorder.
